Thorlight is a french start-up company with the ambition to reborn inland river transport. These are huge vessels navigating Europe’s rivers and canals such as the Rhine or the Danube and transporting large quantities of goods (several thousand tons for the largest vessels) in bulk (cereals, ores, etc…). In order to achieve this ambition we decided to tackle one of the biggest problems these ships face, namely loading. On a ship with a capacity of 1500 tons, it will always load at 1400 or 1450 tons, so it will be underloaded due to a misreading of the existing tools, which will lead to a drop in turnover. Moreover, the boat is incorrectly balanced, which causes an over consumption of fuel.
