Universiti Teknologi Petronas visits IMT
On 4th June, IMT welcomed a Malaysian delegation from UTP which included Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Abdul Rashid B Abd Aziz, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Innovation, and Associate Professor Dr M Naufal M Saad, Custodian Collaboration France UTP.
The delegation was welcomed by Philippe Jamet, General Director of IMT, and Michel Schmitt, Director of Research and Innovation, David Sadek, Director of Research, Alain Schmitt, Director of Ecole des Mines d’Albi, Jean-Claude Bara, Director of Education and International Relations and Anne-Sophie Radel, in charge of International Development. Over the course of a meeting the two establishments were able to get to know each other better and identify promising axes of cooperation, mainly in the field of Research.
UTP welcomes an estimated number of 7,800 students a year, of which 21% are international. Three students are currently on placement at Ecole des Mines de Nantes. The establishment also has an agreement with Télécom SudParis. The cooperation between IMT and UTP will be based on existing partnerships and a workshop between French and Malaysians teacher-researchers may be organized in 2016.
