Career guidance

Each school has set up a system of support for students to help them define their future career, choose their first job, and look ahead to their professional life.

Throughout their time at the school, students will benefit from:

• feedback from alumni
• Presentations of companies and jobs, again from alumni, to help them in their thinking

This work by Alumni for future graduates is a big asset. It is one of the numerous contacts with former students, a way of integrating students into their network to facilitate greater freedom of exchange.

Discover jobs through experience:

Internships in a company and/or in a research laboratory in France and overseas as part of a project will help integrate students into different professional environments during their course, so that they can understand the job of an engineer and get a better vision of what they are likely to enjoy.

Internship advertisements and the history of past internships are available to students to choose the different placements they have to carry out during their program.

Focus on skills:

Understand how students react in a professional environment, analyze what they have learned, create an e-portfolio allowing the students to position themselves and identify their career paths.

Identify ambitions:

This is based essentially on a series of interviews with teachers trained in career guidance.

To be able to make a choice, students can also further their work on a more specific theme (option/major….) and carry out a project in a company or laboratory in the sector. Each school offers its students “options” which are also accessible to other students at IMT, such as Big Data, positive-energy buildings, etc.
