On Friday 12 March 2021, Institut Mines-Télécom’s Board of Directors adopted the IMT Mission Statement comprising a title sentence and explanatory details about our identity, areas of action, methods and what makes us unique.
It is intended to enable everyone to identify with it and to guide the group’s action. A short, easy-to-remember statement :
“All together to imagine and build a sustainable future, and train its key stakeholders”
And explanatory details :
“Through the diversity, excellence and local anchoring of its graduate schools, Institut Mines-Télécom trains top-tier engineers and managers, as well as leading academic and partnership-based research. It works with large companies and SMEs to find solutions to the challenges inherent to major transformations: Industrial, Ecological and Digital, in France, Europe and worldwide. It is supervised by the French Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs.
Institut Mines-Télécom draws on the collective strength of its schools, the excellence of its faculty, staff and students, its extensive ecosystem of companies, partner schools and alumni, to face the challenges posed by the profound changes underway in our society. It acts as a driving force to shape a future society and an economy that are respectful of people and the environment.
Institut Mines-Télécom aims to develop new skills and continuously evolve to create and foster interdisciplinary training programs at the forefront of science, technology, innovation and management and lead top-level mission-oriented scientific research. It works closely with companies and contributes to the development and vitality of regions in cooperation with local authorities.
With the help of its partners, it works to foster and share its vision for the future, disseminate scientific and technological knowledge and inform dialogue on its use.”
Our Mission Statement contributes to uniting all our staff and stakeholders around a common goal: accompanying the major transitions of the 21st century. Institut Mines-Télécom’s action builds on the heritage if its schools, which have contributed to the development of major technological advances that have had a profound effect on society. Today, everyone must do their part to meet the challenges of the industrial, digital and ecological transformations. Expressing this in words is a decisive step for the future.
Establishing a formal Mission Statement was first and foremost a tremendous collective endeavor through which all the stakeholders demonstrated their commitment to Institut Mines-Télécom’s values. These values allow us to propose concrete solutions in our rapidly-changing world and act as a compass to guide our actions over the medium term; I am proud of IMT’s commitment and that it is a part of our strategy.
