Cross Acceleration Exchange Programme
Closing date for applicants: April, 30th 2021
This Programme between South Africa and France will offer deep-tech start-ups the opportunity to test and validate their business models and solutions in a foreign market, to, facilitate access to these markets, and build partnerships. The collaboration is enabled by an agreement between IMT and the University of Pretoria and the French Embassy in South Africa, which is funding the project.
The exchange programme supports one entrepreneur of a start-up from each country to spend two months at TuksNovation in South Africa or at an IMT related incubator. The respective incubators will provide business incubation and acceleration and also facilitate the access to markets for the start-ups in the African Anglophone and European markets.
«The cross-acceleration program is a unique win/win opportunity for all its stakeholders. The program behaves as a genuine value booster for start-up that leverages foreign market growth. Larger revenues and scale-up fund raising are amongst the short term success indicators for selected start-up.
While the French Embassy in South Africa fully supports the first edition, viewed as a proof of concept limited to one start-up in each country, a sustainable model will help to scale up. IMT and IMT Lille Douai are very proud to have TuksNovation as a partner.»
To compete, start-ups must belong or have belonged to the network of IMT incubators or their partners.
The evaluation of the projects is based, among other things, on:
