Alain Schmitt Reappointed as Director of IMT Nord Europe

Bruno Le Maire, Minister for Economy, Finance and Recovery at the Supervisory Ministry of Institut Mines-Télécom, has reappointed Alain Schmitt as Director of IMT Nord Europe until 30 June 2025 by an order of 23 March 2022. 

As Director of the engineering school since 2017, Alain Schmitt was involved in the merger between Ecole des Mines de Douai and Télécom Lille, and then in its international development along with a new identity, which was launched on 1 September 2021 : IMT Nord Europe.

“I am delighted to have been reappointed. It will allow us to continue the collective work we have undertaken since 2017 to give meaning to the merger of the two schools. We have built this new school brick by brick, established an organisation in line with our objectives, and structured our areas of development in conjunction with IMT’s strategic vision. Finally, we have committed our school to a dynamic of international openness, marked by a new North European identity that we will develop in the coming years.”
