Aeronautics: an equation with 3 unknowns, round table on April 6, 2023

,

The Career Observatory at Institut Mines-Télécom and the Skills and Training Technical Commission of the French Aeronautical and Astronautical Association (3AF) are holding a round table discussion on April 6, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm, to discuss the major issues currently facing the aeronautical sector.

Beyond the many issues affecting the entire world of work, the aerospace industry faces specific human resources challenges.

The round table will focus on 3 challenges

Recruitment and retention: Sustainable competence

These days, it is not only the company that chooses from among the candidates, but the young people, who must be persuaded and retained. While innovation is a hallmark of our business, the very long life of our products implies that we must manage our skills and therefore our human resources with a long-term vision. In the age of short-lived experiences, how can we recruit and retain employees?

Digital Transformation: A managerial opportunity

Digital transformation is affecting all aeronautical professions, both in production and in the design offices. Organizations and activities are being profoundly transformed, and this can call into question the very identity of our industry: the human factor! Competence and motivation. What about apprentices in our workshops? Far from being a risk, isn’t this an opportunity?

Environment: A misconception to be clarified

Environmental concerns are increasingly influencing the motivation of the younger generation in their choice of profession. However, technologies, materials and projects in the aerospace industry are tending towards greater carbon neutrality and are making a greater contribution to environmental progress.

How can we communicate this message to young people for whom aviation rhymes with pollution?
