Vincent Charvillat, new Deputy Executive Director of Institut Mines-Telecom
Institut Mines-Telecom has announced the appointment of its new Deputy Executive Director. Vincent Charvillat will take up his post on May 1st. He will be mainly responsible for steering and implementing Institut Mines-Telecom’s overall strategy for 2023/2027 and the Objectives and Performance Contract (COP), in coordination with the Group’s schools. In conjunction with the President, he will participate in the Institute’s outreach activities and contribute to the leadership of networks of higher education and research partners, sectors and socioeconomic stakeholders. Vincent Charvillat will be a member of Institut Mines-Telecom’s governing bodies. He replaces Francis Jutand who has retired.
A career dedicated to education and the promotion of research
After graduating with a doctorate in Image Computing, Vincent Charvillat began his career at INP-ENSEEIHT in 1998 with a secondment to the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT), before becoming a professor in 2010. He obtained his higher doctorate with accreditation to supervise research (HDR) in 2008. Between 2000 and 2020, he held various senior positions in research and training, including the management of degrees, master’s and specialized master’s degree programs, and two terms at the National Council of Universities (CNU 27, between 2010 and 2019). He has been a visiting researcher at the international CNRS IPAL Singapore laboratory since 2015.
