Jean-René Bailly, Institut Mines-Telecom’s new Associate Dean for Research Partnerships and Development

Jean-René Bailly has been Institut Mines-Telecom’s new Associate Dean for Research Partnerships and Development since May 15, 2023. He took over from Christian Picori-Donné and will work closely with the schools to steer the development of research partnerships and draft an enhancement policy to serve society and the economy.

Jean-René Bailly holds an MBA and is a specialist in valuing intellectual property. He worked for over ten years in the valuation subsidiary of France’s leading public scientific research establishment, the CNRS, as director of contract monitoring and equity investments, before joining Plasseraud IP, Europe’s leading industrial property consultancy, in 2016, where he was head of the financial valuation and intangible asset valuation department.

As part of his duties, Jean-René Bailly will guide and coordinate IMT’s policy on R&D partnerships at the regional, national and European levels, and will work to build new group-wide research partnerships serving industrial sectors in line with IMT’s overall positioning. He will oversee the valuation and transfer of technologies, while providing support, advice and expertise to the schools for the benefit of their faculty and students.

Alongside Françoise Prêteux, Director of Research and Economic Development, and Jean-Christophe Baudez, Director of Science, he will support the Institute’s two core missions of research and economic development and contribute to the Institute’s overall strategy and the fulfillment of its objectives under the Priority Objectives Contract (COP).
