IMT prepares for an unusual start to the new academic year for international students in their 2nd year of engineering studies
The start of the 2020 academic year will be an unusual one, and the Institut Mines-Télécom is developing organizational scenarios to guarantee the safety of all and the quality of teaching, particularly for the students of its international partners. IMT is taking into account the risk that they may not be allowed to cross borders or that their arrival may be staggered throughout the semester. For this reason, IMT is setting up a distance learning semester, focusing on sharing in education.
The necessary variability of the proposed courses is only possible thanks to the emergence of communities of practice and resource sharing, which is promoted by the construction of the IMT’s digital educational library.
The solutions chosen, MOOCs and online courses, will have to cope with the diverse range of student time zones and guarantee the quality of exchanges with students.
Distance learning courses implemented for international students could also be used for students located in France. This approach allows us to be immediately operational in the event of a new lockdown.
