IMT celebrates European universities in Vienna with two EULiST partners
To mark the 6th anniversary of the Sorbonne Speech, the Embassy of France in Austria, together with TU Wien and the Embassy of Spain in Austria, organized a conference on “European University Alliances: A New Space for Digital Humanism?”.
In his speech, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed the creation of European universities. This aspiration to establish networks of universities in different European Union countries was aimed at creating places of excellence in innovation, higher education and research in Europe.
The conference held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, brought together three of the ten members of the European University EULiST: Institut Mines-Telecom, represented by its Executive Director, Odile Gauthier, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) represented by its Rector, Professor Javier Ramos Lopez, and Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) represented by its Rector, Professor Jens Schneider.
The conference provided an opportunity for everyone to present their institution, challenges, and their position within a European university like EULiST.
Many thanks to the Embassy of France in Austria for hosting the event, and the Embassy of Spain in Austria and TU Wien for organizing it.
