IMT consolidates its digital health partnership with Singapore
IMT is building a new, long-term partnership with the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) in the area of digital health, as part of a center for excellence in digital health and aging well, led by the scientific directorate. IMT has already developed a long-term partnership with the prestigious National University of Singapore (11th in the Shanghai Ranking), which has made it possible to bring multiple European, industrial and Singaporean projects to completion.
I2R is part of A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research), under the aegis of Singapore’s Ministry of Industry, which boasts multiple research institutes organized into two major entities: BMRC (Biomedical Research Council) based at Biopolis and SERC (Science and Engineering Research Council) based at Fusionopolis. The aim of I2R is to create innovation in the digital world for a prosperous, resilient Singapore by leveraging AI, connectivity and cybersecurity.
The first collaborative workshop took place on Monday, August 29, 2022 by videoconference, featuring around forty faculty members from IMT schools and I2R researchers around the themes of digital health and cybersecurity for health, broken down into three areas :
- Healthcare pathways and precision healthcare
- Cybersecurity technologies for healthcare applications
- Urban health, data collection and AI models for healthcare applications
A partnership framework agreement is currently being drawn up to allow for the creation of collaborative projects in R&D and innovation.
