Visit by a delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen
On May 9, a delegation from the Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen (HITSZ) visited Institut Mines-Telecom (IMT) in Palaiseau to discuss opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation included the vice-president of HITSZ, the deans of the faculties of computer science and technology, of mechanics and automation, and of science, as well as members of the international office. They were warmly welcomed by IMT’s Executive Director, Odile Gauthier, Deputy Executive Director Vincent Charvillat, and International Director Olivier Epinette, along with his team.
HITSZ is a member of China’s C9 League of its most prestigious universities, equivalent to the American Ivy League, and is ranked among the top 100 engineering universities in the QS World University Rankings (72nd). The university has ten different faculties, including computer science and technology, civil and environmental engineering, electronics, mechanics and materials science.
During the visit, both parties explored the possibilities of student exchange programs. The meeting focused on developing a general framework for defining the scope of student mobility.
The HITSZ delegation then visited the EURECOM site in Sophia-Antipolis on May 10 to discuss possibilities for collaboration in the IT field.
