A 3rd ERC for Mines Saint-Étienne
Mines Saint-Étienne has received its 3rd European Research Council (ERC) grant within the framework of the HORIZON 2020 European Program. Armines, a strategic partner of IMT, played an active role in the success of these applications:
- Stéphane Avril: Consolidator Grant – BIOLOCHANICS
- Pierre Badel: Starting Grant – Aartemis
- Roisin Owens: Proof of Concept
The European Research Council (ERC) is an integral part of the first “Scientific Excellence” pillar of the European Commission’s new Research and Innovation Program: Horizon 2020. Its remit is to coordinate research efforts between Member States by supporting the careers of outstanding independent researchers in all scientific areas. The ERC supports three types of researchers: those at the start of their careers, ERC “Starting Grants” (up to 7 years after passing their PhD), “Consolidator Grants” (up to 14 years), and “Advanced” (for the most experienced). “Proof of Concept” funding is awarded to researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant.
