,

The fourth edition of the IMT-Academy of Science Award will be held online on December 1, 2020 at 6:00 pm.

Supported by the Fondation Mines-Télécom, it aims to reward outstanding scientific contributions at the European level in three areas: digital transformation in industry; energy and environmental engineering; and materials and manufacturing.

Two distinctions

The IMT-Academy of Science Prize consists of two awards:

A Grand Prize awarded to a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to the above-mentioned fields through a particularly remarkable body of work ;
A Prize for Hope awarded to a scientist who is less than 40 years old on January 1st of the year of awarding the prize and who has contributed by a major innovation to these same fields.

These prizes are awarded jointly by the IMT with the support of the Fondation Mines-Télécom and the Academy of Sciences. They are endowed as follows:

  • Grand Prize: €30,000
  • Hope Price : €15 000 .

Each prize will be awarded without nationality condition to a scientist working in France or in Europe in close collaboration with French teams. Applications must be sent to the Academy of Sciences by a laboratory director, a head of institution or a member of the Academy who supports the application.

Official award ceremony

The solemn prize-giving ceremony usually takes place in the autumn under the dome of the Institut de France. This year, for health reasons, the ceremony will be digitized.
