On March 24, 2025, the Gaia-X Hub France plenary session took place at Bercy, bringing together some 200 stakeholders committed to developing safe, interoperable data spaces that are in line with European values.
A strategic event, at the core of digital and industrial transformations, supported by IMT!
As a founding member of Gaia-X, IMT makes an active contribution to this initiative through Hub France and the DataSpaceLab, by harnessing its research, training courses and expertise in support of digital transformations.
Alongside Emmanuel Sardet, CEO of Cigref, Cécile Dubarry, Executive President of IMT, kicked off the event with a reminder that managing data circulation is key in boosting digital sovereignty, supporting transitions and creating value for both companies and society.

Shared challenges: sovereignty, AI and sustainable economic models
The discussions shed light on three priorities for 2025 :
- operationalization of data spaces;
- establishing sustainable economic models;
- integrating artificial intelligence technologies.
The challenges at the core of Gaia-X’s roadmap, presented by CEO Ulrich Ahle!
Two round tables explored the conditions for creating value through specific use cases in the energy, transport and education sectors. Trust in AI systems, traceability of exchanges and data governance were identified as essential levers.
IMT : taking action
As a French federal institute of technological universities of science and management, IMT supports transformations by combining scientific expertise, proximity to industry and a commitment to a sustainable future.
IMT uses its TeraLab platform for the DataSpaceLab, a space for experimentation that is available for companies of all sizes. Funded by the French National Research Agency as part of France 2030, this facility encourages the emergence and practical implementation of data spaces.
The DataSpaceLab facilitates the testing of technical solutions, the structuring of trusted ecosystems as well as the provision of adapted training courses. It reflects IMT’s commitment to responsible, controlled and accessible innovation.
Collective efforts to carry forward
The plenary session also reiterated the importance of boosting French representation within Gaia-X, especially in the run-up to the renewal of its Board of Directors. The success of this European initiative depends on the involvement of all players.
Thank you for this fantastic event devoted to AI, trust and sustainable models!
Together, we will remain committed to designing and building sovereign, sustainable data spaces that create value for everyone.
