Specgen is an emerging start-up incubated at TechForward, the joint incubator launched by IMT, EURECOM and EDHEC.
We met with Margot Michel, co-founder and student at EDHEC Business School.

Can you tell us about Spengen’s project?

Specgen is a father-daughter venture built around a simple idea: develop AI tools to support both buyers and suppliers in managing public tenders and responses.

Our goal is to provide an AI solution that’s easy to use, easy to access—and above all, one that doesn’t compromise data confidentiality.

Artificial intelligence is incredibly powerful, especially for automating low-value tasks (which is exactly what Specgen focuses on). But it’s crucial to remember that AI is just a tool, and it’s all about how you use it.

As an EDHEC student, I lead the business side of the company, while my father—an engineer by training—handles the technical development.

How has IMT’s incubator network helped you scale?

We’re currently hosted at TechForward, an incubator created through a partnership between EDHEC, EURECOM, and IMT.

This support is invaluable—it gives us access to expert advice on how to scale effectively and sustainably, and helps Specgen grow with solid foundations.

It’s also a real opportunity to be connected to a well-established network, which is a major asset for any start-up.

What were your expectations for VivaTech?

We were honored to be among the 36 start-ups selected to represent IMT at VivaTech 2025!

We didn’t come in with fixed expectations—just a desire to experience this high-profile event firsthand. And it truly exceeded everything we imagined.

What stood out most was the spirit of openness: a genuine excitement around artificial intelligence, far removed from the fear-based narratives we often hear. It was energizing and inspiring.

Thanks to IMT, we had our own booth at the event—a priceless opportunity that gave us outstanding visibility. We had dozens of curious and engaged visitors come by to learn about our project. A fantastic momentum was built around Specgen at VivaTech!
