On 30 September 2026, IMT welcomed Måns Svensson, Chair of the Governing Board of the EULiST European University Alliance and President of Jönköping University (Sweden). The visit provided an opportunity to discuss EULiST’s ambitions, its next steps and new prospects for cooperation between partner institutions.

Shaping EULiST’s future together

Måns Svensson, accompanied by EULiST Secretary General Natia Gamkrelidze, was welcomed by Cécile Dubarry, Executive President of IMT, for a day of discussions with IMT teams.

The agenda covered several strategic priorities, including the development of EULiST’s strategy towards 2035, potential expansion of the alliance and preparations for its next application for European funding. The meeting also provided an opportunity to review EULiST’s progress, discuss its objectives and identify priorities for strengthening cooperation among its members.

For IMT, these discussions reflect its commitment to actively shaping the alliance’s strategic direction and development, beyond its involvement in joint projects.

New opportunities for cooperation across IMT’s Technological Universities

Following a morning of strategic discussions, the visit continued at the Institut Mines-Télécom Business School campus in Évry. Representatives from three IMT Technological Universities had the opportunity to meet directly with Måns Svensson: IMT Mines Albi, IMT Nord Europe and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School.

These meetings provided an opportunity to showcase their individual strengths and explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in education, research and international partnerships.

The aim is to bring the European alliance closer to IMT’s Technological Universities and turn shared European ambitions into concrete opportunities for cooperation.

EULiST: a driving force behind IMT’s European strategy

As a member of EULiST (European Universities Linking Society and Technology), a European University Alliance bringing together eleven higher education institutions across Europe, IMT is committed to strengthening its international reach and helping shape the European Higher Education and Research Area.

Through EULiST, IMT and its partners are working to bring science, technology and society closer together to address today’s major challenges. The alliance provides a valuable framework for expanding international mobility, fostering scientific and educational collaboration, and developing new joint initiatives.

For IMT, EULiST also represents a strategic opportunity to raise the European profile of its Technological Universities, share their expertise and play an active role in shaping the future of higher education in Europe.
