IMT proudly joins the European Doctoral Day Initiative to designate May 13th as European Doctoral Day!

In a Europe that upholds science and research as core values, designating May 13th as European Doctoral Day would affirm the importance of doctoral education, doctoral candidates and PhD holders for Europe as a whole.

We firmly believe they are essential drivers of innovation in society and for humanity, crucial for addressing the challenges of a world in transition and for securing Europe’s scientific future.

This dedicated day would aim to:

  • enhance the attractiveness of doctoral education for both European and international students,
  • raise employer awareness and recognition of doctoral qualifications,
  • highlight the diverse career paths and societal impact of PhD graduates.

We enthusiastically support this initiative and call for a European-wide mobilization toward a first edition of events on May 13, 2026, building on the actions of universities, European alliances and socio-economic stakeholders.

Let’s make visible the researchers who are shaping our future.
