Our identity & commitments

IMT, a French Federal Institute of Technological Universities of science and management for sustainable economic development

Through research and the training of engineers, managers and PhDs, IMT is addressing the major industrial, digital, energy and ecological challenges facing France, Europe and the entire world.

Today, we are designing and building – together – a world that reconciles science, technology and economic development with respect for the planet and its inhabitants.

Comprising eight Technological Universities and two subsidiary schools, IMT coordinates and develops a diverse ecosystem of economic, academic and institutional partners involved in training, research and economic development.

Our manifesto

“All together to imagine and build a sustainable future and to train its key stakeholders”

Created to meet France’s economic and industrial development needs since the nineteenth century, IMT’s Technological Universities have supported every industrial and communications revolution.

Our Technological Universities

IMT action builds on the heritage if its schools, which have contributed to the development of major technological advances that have had a profound effect on society.

Today, everyone must do their part to meet the challenges of the industrial, digital and ecological transformations.

Our commitments

  • Over the past several years, Institut Mines-Télécom has taken a number of steps to foster equal opportunity for its employees : parenting support measures, a specific program to close the wage gap and implement affirmative action to correct low wage progression.

IMT developed a gender equality plan for the 2021-2023 period (approved by the Board of Directors in June 2021), focusing on 4 pillars, based on civil service guidelines in accordance with the requirements of the law of 6 August 2019 :

    • Assess, prevent, and when necessary, take steps to correct gender pay gaps
    • Guarantee equal access for women and men to all governing bodies and jobs.
    • Encourage the reconciliation between work and personal and family life

    • Get all levels of the organization involved
    • Train future managers and engineers who are aware, responsible and well-equipped
    • Lead high-impact research dedicated to the challenges of transition
    • Develop ecological transition ecosystems
    • Aim for an eco-campus at every school
  • This label represents a major asset for the attractiveness of research careers and for the ITM schools, by attracting researchers from all over Europe. It ensures equal treatment between the different schools and facilitates access to European research funding. These objectives are fully in line with the ITM’s policy of supporting research and those involved in it.

These objectives are fully in line with the policy of the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), reinforcing the attractiveness and international influence of the establishment, as well as its active participation in the European research area. With this in mind, the ITM has officially embarked on the HRS4R labelling process.
