EULiST & IMT: bridging society and technology across Europe

EULiST (European Universities Linking Society and Technology) is a European University uniting ten diverse and complementary universities to interlink science, technology, and society. Its shared ambition: address today’s global challenges—such as climate change, digital transformation, and social cohesion—by combining engineering and digital sciences with the social sciences and humanities, in line with the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDOs).

As a founding member since 2022, IMT, French federal institute of technological universities, brings its recognized expertise in engineering, digital transformation, and innovation. Rooted in regional ecosystems and strongly connected to industry and public actors, IMT fully shares EULiST’s vision of inclusive, sustainable, and impact-driven education and research.

Ten universities, one shared vision

EULiST brings together ten universities from across Europe, representing diverse academic profiles, geographic contexts, and innovation ecosystems.

Key EULiST Goals

  • EULiST prepares students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world shaped by climate change and digital transformation. Programmes combine technology, sustainability, and social sciences to provide students with relevant skills in AI, data literacy, sustainable innovation, and critical thinking. Learning is challenge-based, applied, and connected to real-world needs.

  • EULiST creates a shared academic ecosystem through a joint physical and digital campus. This includes a common course catalogue, joint and double degree programmes, and digital learning modules. Its multilateral mobility agreement ensures recognition of credits and supports accessible, low-carbon, and inclusive mobility options for all students and staff.

  • Researchers benefit from access to shared infrastructures such as the EULiST Knowledge Hub, collaborative projects across disciplines, and funding support for international research mobility and interdisciplinary training.

  • EULiST builds Living Labs, Citizen Science initiatives, and regional innovation hubs. These promote co-creation with local stakeholders, support decision-making, and tackle sustainability issues at local and European levels.

EULiST, a unique European academic ecosystem, uniting over 200,000 students and 20,000 staff around a common vision: linking society, science and technology for a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient Europe.
