Prix IMT academie des sciences

The 2025 edition of the IMT-Académie des sciences Prize has been launched.

In association with the Académie des sciences and supported by the Fondation Mines-Télécom, it rewards outstanding scientific contributions at European level in four scientific and technological fields.

The deadline for applications is 20 May 2025.

Four areas – Two awards

  • In 2025, the Académie des sciences will award the Grand Prix IMT – Académie des sciences worth €20,000.
  • In 2025, the Académie des sciences will award the IMT – Académie des Sciences Young Scientist Prize worth €10,000.

The IMT – Académie des sciences Grand Prix

This annual prize, founded by the IMT in partnership with the Fondation Mines-Télécom, is intended to reward a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution through a series of recognised scientific advances that have helped to advance issues arising in the industrial or business world, in the service of a sustainable economy, in one of the scientific and technological fields listed below :

  • Advanced and responsible technologies for industry ;
  • Digital sovereignty and sobriety ;
  • Energy, circular economy and society ;
  • Engineering for health and well-being.

The IMT – Académie des sciences Grand Prix is awarded to a scientist working in France, or elsewhere in Europe but in close collaboration with a French team. There is however no citizenship requirement.

Young Scientist Prize – Académie des sciences

This annual prize, founded by the IMT in partnership with the Fondation Mines-Télécom, is designed to reward a scientist under 40 years of age on the first of January of the year in which the prize is awarded (this limit may be extended by one year per child), who has contributed through a major innovation to the advancement of issues arising in the world of industry or business, in the service of a sustainable economy, in one of the 4 scientific and technological fields.

The Young Scientist Prize – Académie des sciences is awarded regardless of nationality to a scientist working in France or Europe in close collaboration with French teams.

The age condition applies to candidates whose year of birth is 1985 or later.

Good to know

  • The closing date for applications is Tuesday 20 May 2025 for both categories.
  • Direct applications are not accepted. Applications must be sent to the Académie des sciences by a laboratory director, an institution head or a member of the Académie des sciences, who will present and support the application.
