bannière promotionnelle de l'Année de l'ingénierie

The academic year 2025–2026 has been designated the Year of Engineering, and IMT’s Technological Universities are proud to be fully involved!

This nationwide science outreach initiative aims to raise public awareness—especially among young people and educators—about the engineering profession, its educational pathways, and its societal impact.

Led by the CNRS, the French Academy of Technologies, the Ministry of National Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the initiative brings together a broad network of partners: universities, technological universities, research bodies, foundations, associations, and skills operators.

Because the great challenges of tomorrow must be tackled today, discover how engineering is helping shape a sustainable future.

A Year of Outreach and Awareness

This ambition is fully aligned with the values of IMT—the leading public group of Technological Universities for engineering and management—which shares the following goals:

  • Showcase how engineering contributes to a more sustainable and responsible future
  • Promote the diversity of careers and training pathways, from vocational diplomas to PhDs
  • Challenge outdated perceptions and fight stereotypes, especially those related to gender
  • Encourage ethical reflection on the impact of technologies
  • Strengthen France’s strategic autonomy and economic resilience

Towards Sustainable and Responsible Engineering

Sustainable and responsible engineering involves developing technologies and processes that make efficient use of resources while preserving the environment and natural reserves for future generations. It also promotes low-energy systems and effective recycling solutions. Ethical issues must also be factored into every step of the innovation process.

Through projects, public engagement, and educational initiatives, the Year of Engineering highlights the positive impact of engineering that is mindful of its consequences and committed to sustainable development for the benefit of future generations.

Let’s train the change-makers of a sustainable future—together.
