A competition to support start-ups
Since 2023, the “Up To Start by IMT” entrepreneurship competition has been supporting entrepreneurs in the field of technology and innovation by offering them comprehensive, personalized support and integrating them into one of the 12 incubators at the Institut Mines-Télécom schools.
An edition focused on deep tech
This year, “Up To Start by IMT” is focusing on another aspect of innovation: deep tech. The selected projects will therefore come from the research laboratories of IMT schools.
Our observation: while the deep tech ecosystem is progressing, several obstacles still too often hinder the trajectory of disruptive startups. The transition from invention to innovation remains a pivotal and complex moment, requiring long development times and significant investment, and is often accompanied by technological, industrial, or regulatory barriers.
That is the purpose of this entrepreneurship competition : to enable the winning projects to benefit from the expertise and skills of France’s leading public group of engineering and management schools, in order to overcome the technological, industrial, and regulatory barriers that hinder the development and scaling up of deep tech projects.
A competition to boost your entrepreneurial project
€100,000 to support the launch of 15 deep tech entrepreneurship projects within IMT
The first four projects selected by our jury for their quality will receive a grant of:
- €20,000 for first prize,
- €15,000 for second prize,
- €10,000 for third prize,
- €10,000 for the jury’s favorite.
The following 10 winning projects will receive financial assistance equivalent to €5,000 in support services!

- Strategic support and personalized guidance from experts
- An extensive network of technical experts, investors, and potential partners in France and Europe, offering a wealth of opportunities
- Technological and scientific support through the provision of resources and guidance on intellectual property matters
- Opportunities and support for financing innovation
