Mur d'affiches du programme Ambassadrices

The IMT “Programme Ambassadrices” is back for a new edition! The aim is to promote equal opportunities and facilitate access to scientific studies and careers for young women. Students, master’s and doctoral students from the IMT Technological Universities have until 15 October 2026 to apply.

30 new #AmbassadricesIMT to help change the status quo

Even though France is short of engineers, half of the talent pool remains largely untapped. This is because women make up less than a third of the students in STEM universities!

In response to this issue, IMT and its foundation, Fondation Mines-Télécom, created the “Programme Ambassadrices”, a training and awareness-raising initiative led by students from our technological universities, to encourage young women to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) studies and careers.

Recruitment campaign for the 2026-2027 cohort is now underway!

30 new #AmbassadricesIMT from the IMT Technological Universities will be able to join the programme to help break down stereotypes and inspire future generations!

No need to have a perfect academic record, be top of your class nor have dreamed of becoming an engineer since you were a child to apply. The programme is open to anyone who wants to share their experience and help change the status quo.

Promoting diversity in science and technology within an engaged community

Throughout the year, the selected students will travel to meet with middle and high school students across France: those who wonder if science is ‘for them,’ those who are hesitant, those who have been discouraged, and those who may not have even considered it.

By participating in career fairs or giving presentations in classrooms, the volunteers will raise awareness about studying science and engineering. Mediation and discovery of science, career guidance, admissions, job prospects, and sharing experiences are just some of the topics that can be discussed through exchanges and activities.

What does it mean to be an “Ambassadrice IMT” ?

Joining the “Programme Ambassadrices IMT” means first and foremost training so that you can in turn pass on and raise awareness. The 2026-2027 cohort will benefit from:

  • a training and awareness-raising programme run by female experts and engineer mentors;
  • two immersive weekends to train, exchange ideas and share experiences with engineer mentors, experts and specialists;
  • mentoring provided by female employees of the Fondation Mines-Télécom patron companies;
  • interventions in middle and high schools across France;
  • recognition of this commitment.

It is also an opportunity to speak in public, to compare one’s own career path with those of other students and professionals, to develop one’s network and to put one’s experience at the service of younger people.

‘The IMT “Programme Ambassadrices” is first and foremost a human endeavour, based on interaction, sharing and kindness. To commit to promoting equal opportunities is a very noble cause to defend.’ – Gabriella (Télécom Paris) – #AmbassadriceIMT 2023
