EAIE 2026, the international higher education event
From 8 to 11 September 2026, IMT took part in the annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), held in Glasgow. This major international event in higher education and research brought together more than 7,300 participants from over 100 countries.
The programme included more than 240 sessions, workshops, meetings and networking events centred around the theme ‘The Rhythm of Revolution’. This was an invitation to reflect on the transformations in higher education and the role of international cooperation in addressing them collectively.
The EAIE exhibition also brought together more than 1,200 organisations on over 250 stands. IMT had a stand to welcome its partners, showcase its international activities and exchange ideas with institutions from around the world.

4 days to develop our international partnerships and cooperation

Represented by its general management and its technological universities, IMT took advantage of these four days to meet with many international partners and institutions. Objectives: to advance ongoing projects, consolidate existing partnerships, develop new agreements and identify future collaborations in the areas of training, research and innovation.
The collective mobilisation helped to highlight the group’s actions and the initiatives of IMT Atlantique, IMT Mines Albi, IMT Mines Alès, IMT Nord Europe, Institut Mines-Telecom Business School, Mines Saint-Étienne, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis.
Participation in the EAIE also allows the international relations teams to share their practices, follow developments in higher education at the European and international levels, and identify new opportunities for mobility and cooperation.
Beyond the institutional events, the EAIE is therefore a privileged time to maintain links with the IMT’s partners and to identify new common perspectives.
EULiST and the European University Alliances in Glasgow
The European alliance EULiST – European Universities Linking Society and Technology, of which the IMT is a member, was also present in Glasgow, alongside more than 30 European university alliances.
This participation enabled the presentation of EULiST’s objectives, the highlighting of the alliance’s progress, and the sharing of its latest news, including the ‘Make Science Matter’ conference and the EULiST Course Catalogue, which develops the training opportunities offered to students at the partner institutions.
Another highlight was the exchanges organised at the European Commission stand, particularly around FOREU4ALL, an initiative that brings together European university alliances and promotes the sharing of experiences and best practices.
The joint presence of the IMT and EULiST at the EAIE 2026 thus illustrates the different levels at which the Institute’s international cooperation is built: from partnerships between institutions to structured collaborations within European alliances.
