IMT announces the launch of the MACMIA project, winner of the \u201cSkills and Jobs of the Future\u201d call for projects. With \u20ac5.9 million in funding, MACMIA aims to diversify and expand the range of training courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This large-scale project is led by the IMT Technological Universities: IMT Mines Al\u00e8s, IMT Atlantique, IMT Nord Europe, Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne, Institut Mines-T\u00e9l\u00e9com Business School in association with: ESIGELEC, the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) and several Campus des M\u00e9tiers et des Qualifications d\u2019Excellence (CMQE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MACMIA project proposes the establishment of a comprehensive training program for technicians, engineers, and managers with dual expertise in AI and Industry of the Future. It stands out for its innovative and transdisciplinary approach. It covers several areas of dual expertise training, including embedded AI and smart mobility, AI and health, and AI and distribution. It also places people at the heart of digital transformation and automation through the training of cognitive engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MACMIA relies on a vast regional network covering eight French regions: Occitanie, Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes, Brittany, Pays de la Loire, Normandy, \u00cele-de-France, Hauts-de-France, and Grand Est. The project mobilizes local academic and economic stakeholders to facilitate its deployment and maximize its regional impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to make careers in AI and data science more attractive, MACMIA is rolling out awareness-raising initiatives in secondary schools. These initiatives include programs to encourage gender diversity, such as the Institut Mines-T\u00e9l\u00e9com’s \u201cAmbassadrices\u201d program and the CMQ’s (Campus des M\u00e9tiers et des Qualifications d’Excellence) \u201cLes Filles de l’IA\u201d program, in cooperation with various associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MACMIA provides a continuum of training, ranging from awareness-raising in secondary school to higher education programmes at levels equivalent to two to eight years of university study. The training courses cover a broad spectrum, including bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes specialising in AI and data science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A continuing professional development programme is offered to enable working professionals to acquire or strengthen their AI skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MACMIA project aims to train industry experts, project managers, AI specialists (machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, large language models \u2013 LLM) and dual-skilled specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project aims to contribute to the sovereignty of the French data and AI sector from the training stage onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MACMIA plans to create a national web portal consolidating initial, apprenticeship and continuing training programmes. This portal will integrate an LMS for monitoring learning modules and an AI recommendation engine for personalising training pathways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
