Her career has been guided by research, industry and a passion for reinforcing fibres.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 30%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The fluid in which our brains are immersed oscillates with our body&#8217;s pulses. Studying these dynamics offers new insights into the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. She conducts applied research into the biological activity of inhaled particles, while also heading up the school&#8217;s Biomedical Engineering option. We take a closer look at a researcher whose primary aim is to \u2018make herself useful\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 32%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Following her first ERC grant, received in 2017, Mich\u00e8le Wigger has been awarded a second European grant to support her work in information theory.
