From 16 to 19 April 2026, more than 2,000 students<\/strong> from 13 engineering schools gathered in Nancy for the 51st edition of the Cartel<\/a><\/strong>, one of France\u2019s largest student sporting events.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised this year by students from Mines Nancy<\/a>, the event brought together engineering schools for four days of sporting competitions, celebrations and collective initiatives. With 17 disciplines represented <\/strong>\u2014 including rugby, ultimate frisbee, swimming, athletics, handball, basketball and climbing \u2014 the Cartel remains a flagship event in student and campus life each year.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again, IMT<\/a>\u2019 Technological Universities stood out in the competition, with three schools securing places on the final podium<\/strong>: IMT Mines Al\u00e8s<\/a>, Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne<\/a> and IMT Mines Albi<\/a>. This emblematic event highlights the values of teamwork, collective commitment and self-improvement championed across IMT<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMT Mines Al\u00e8s wins Cartel 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The overall winner of this 51st edition<\/strong>, IMT Mines Al\u00e8s<\/a> claimed another title and confirmed its historic position in the competition with a 34th overall victory<\/strong>.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from IMT Mines Al\u00e8s achieved an impressive medal tally: 12 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 2 bronze medals<\/strong>. The school praised the commitment of its athletes, student associations and all students involved throughout the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne takes second place<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students from Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne<\/a> finished in second place<\/strong> after four intense days of competition.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00e9cole s\u2019est distingu\u00e9e dans de nombreuses disciplines avec plusieurs titres<\/strong> en natation, relais, cross et basket masculin, ainsi que des podiums en escalade, handball, rugby, tennis ou encore ultimate. Fid\u00e8le \u00e0 la tradition, le Prix de l\u2019ambiance est \u00e9galement revenu aux st\u00e9phanoises et st\u00e9phanois<\/strong>, r\u00e9compensant l\u2019\u00e9nergie et le soutien des supporters tout au long de la comp\u00e9tition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school excelled across many disciplines, securing several titles<\/strong> in swimming, relay races, cross-country and men\u2019s basketball, as well as podium finishes in climbing, handball, rugby, tennis and ultimate frisbee. True to tradition, the Atmosphere Award also went to students from Mines Saint-\u00c9tienne, recognising the energy and support of their fans throughout the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMT Mines Albi completes the podium<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With an excellent third-place<\/strong> finish overall, IMT Mines Albi<\/a> confirmed its consistency at the highest level, securing its third podium finish in four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from IMT Mines Albi performed strongly in both team and individual events, showcasing the team spirit and collective engagement that drive student life at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special mention<\/strong> also goes to IMT Mines Albi Alumni<\/a> graduates, winners of the p\u00e9tanque tournament \u2014 congratulations to them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All IMT\u2019 Technological Universities taking part in the 2026 edition<\/strong> \u2014 including IMT Atlantique<\/a>, IMT-BS<\/a>, T\u00e9l\u00e9com Paris<\/a> and T\u00e9l\u00e9com SudParis<\/a> \u2014 proudly represented their schools in an atmosphere combining competition, conviviality and team spirit.

The school will also host the 2027 edition of the Cartel in Douai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMT Nord Europe<\/a> also delivered several outstanding performances, including a gold medal in women\u2019s basketball, as well as bronze medals in men\u2019s football, women\u2019s handball, men\u2019s basketball and athletics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the sporting achievements, the Cartel des Mines remains a landmark event in student life. It highlights student engagement, organisational skills and the strength of collective action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the teams from Mines Nancy<\/a> and to all the volunteers involved in organising this 2026 edition<\/strong>, recognised for the quality of the welcome, the organisation and the energy demonstrated throughout the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
