QS World University Rankings “by subject” 2021: five Institut Mines-Télécom schools in the ranking

The 2021 edition of the QS World University Rankings “by subject” published on March 3 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) marks a progression of Institut Mines-Télécom schools compared to 2020. They stand out in the fields of Engineering and Technology and Basic Sciences.

Five schools in the group are represented in four disciplines. This highly prestigious ranking, which takes into account the quality of the research and the reputation of the institutions, confirms the very high level of IMT schools in the overall landscape of higher education in France.

  • Télécom Paris

Télécom Paris is ranked 218th in the world in the general field of Engineering and Technology, which is up 52 places on the previous edition and puts it in 6th place nationally. In Computer Science and Information Systems it has risen to 64th position (4th in the country), and in Electrical and Electronic Engineering it is positioned in the 201-250 bracket; in Mathematics it has risen to the 301-350 range (401-450 bracket in 2020).

  • IMT Atlantique

IMT Atlantique is ranked 326th in the general field of Engineering and Technology (12th in France). In Computer Science and Information Systems, it occupies the 151-200 bracket, i.e. the 6th national rank, and in Electrical and Electronic Engineering it is in the 251-300 range (8th nationally). In Physics and Astronomy, the school has reached the 501-550 bracket.

  • Télécom SudParis

Télécom SudParis has gained places in Computer Sciences and Information Systems and is now in the 351-400 bracket (401-450 bracket in 2020).

  • EURECOM

EURECOM, in Computer Science and Information Systems has moved up in the rankings and is now in the 501-550 bracket, an improvement on 2019 (551-600).

  • Mines Saint-Etienne

For the first time, Mines Saint-Etienne has been included in the Computer Science and Information Systems ranking, in the 551-600 bracket.
