Innovative solutions in green AI: news from GreenHack~IT 2024

,

The GreenHack~IT 2024 Hackathon, jointly organized by Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), was a real success. Organized as part of the German-French Academy for Industry of the Future (AFA), it brought together 40 students from France and Germany to explore innovative solutions in green artificial intelligence.

From March 14 to 17, French students from five IMT schools and German students from TUM came together to take up the challenge of rethinking the parts supply chain for Ariane6. This challenge, proposed by ArianeGroup, provided an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of this critical chain.

Women accounted for 20% of participants, which helped ensure a greater diversity of perspectives in the exchanges and discussions. Their participation served to increase the consideration and representation of women in the field of technology.

Six teams worked together in close collaboration over the course of the four-day intensive event. They were able to highlight their expertise in artificial intelligence and their creativity by proposing innovative solutions. Their collaboration produced a series of promising applications that could make a significant impact on environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

IMT welcomes this fruitful collaboration with TUM and the students’ involvement and talent. We believe that the GreenHack~IT 2024 Hackathon generated ideas and innovations that will help create a greener and more sustainable future for all.
