African Conference on the Regulation and Economy of Digital Technology

For two decades now, use of digital technology in Africa has skyrocketed, in part due to the spread and now mass usage of cell phones and digital apps. This new, competitive market, which is regulated by sectoral authorities, contributes to African economic development and is greatly transforming its businesses and economies. The distinctive characteristics of the African continent merit a specific approach towards its digital economy and subsequent regulation.

The conference aims to bring together the main African and international players interested in issues linked to the African digital economy. This conference is aimed at academics and professionals from this field as well as civil society, and is co-organized and sponsored by Télécom Paris. Davide Bounie and Laurent Gille, researchers in the SES department, will be part of the scientific committee.
