3D model with FreeCAD

This MOOC is the fifth part of the Digital Manufacturing course.

Accompanied by an interdisciplinary team of EESAB artists and makers, IMT Atlantic engineers and developers from the FreeCAD community, you will learn to:

  • Explain the principles of parametric 3D modeling.
  • Experiment with all the conception stages of a 3D model, until its exploitation.
  • Design a 3D mechanical part with FreeCAD (a free parametric modeler).
  • Create standard industry files (STEP, STL), exploitable by digital machines (CNC, 3D printers …).

Prerequisites

Have administrator rights on your computer. Indeed, to carry out the practical work, you will be asked to install the FreeCAD software.
